First of all Happy Thanksgiving to the few readers who read my blog these days.

This Thanksgiving was a little bit different from the norm. The norm is to have Thanksgiving with a handful of families in Port Lavaca. Well this year one of the families moved out of state, another chose to have Thanksgiving out of state with family and the last “usual” family chose to host their own Thanksgiving. Personally it doesn’t bother me who we have it with cause usually I’m stuck at the kids table and after the kids eat they do their own thing. No big deal for me to have Thanksgiving with one other family except it was hot pot. There are those who are a fan of hot pot and those who aren’t. I side with those who aren’t fans of hot pot. To me it’s boiled food that’s dipped it a satay sauce so all you taste is satay. Plus I get hungry really fast after eating hot pot. Didn’t matter though, cause all the calories I consumed I easily burned away from the basketball. One thing great about going home during the holidays is that there’s enough to run full court basketball. Every year I get slower and slower. Oh well, at least it keeps me in shape. Can’t wait for next Thanksgiving!

Rocket fan

The chances of the Rocket’s going to the finals are next to none. But you know what, I still love them and will stay loyal to the team.

I’ve been very busy the last couple of weeks. I haven’t been this busy in such a long time. Of course when I’m busy things I normally do get put off. The biggest thing I haven’t been able to do, and people keep asking is the pictures. I’m glad there’s a fan base for the type of journalistic photography I shoot. But now that there’s a fan base there are certain expectations. When I’m not as busy I can easily process hundreds of pictures. When I’m busy I process 0 pictures.

Busy + Tired = No Pictures Posted.

After tonight there will be a break. The Ministers’ Workshop workshop is the last big church event of the year so I’ll be looking forward to processing pictures like a mad man.

TV weakness

As I got busier in life slowly watching TV has been pushed so low on the list I hardly watch TV. I don’t believe in allowing a box to entertain depending on its schedule. Before when I had my own place I could watch TV whenever I want. Now comes the real test. The place I currently reside in has no cable. Will I be able to survive? Will I have the urge to watch TV? Keep in mind I’m a sports fan and no cable means no games.

Only time will tell.

iPhone killer

Today at the end of the day a coworker touted his new phone is the iPhone killer. As predicted this is the year of the “iPhone killer.” All the big players have pushed and released phones with the same form factor as the iPhone and has labeled their phone as the phone to bring down the iPhone. Granted, Apple wasn’t the first phone to use that form factor, but it was the first company to make that form factor popular. Here are my thoughts on this subject. Years ago when the iPod was popular Sandisk bragged many of its mp3 players would kill the iPod. Earlier this year I read an article from Sandisk that it has failed and it will no longer market any of its devices as the iPod killer. The iPhone has morphed into something far greater than just a phone. Not only do manufacturers have to come up with something that’s seamless between a phone and a music device, but now it has to deal with the behemoth of an App store that no one predicted. So I would say go for it, tout as many iPhone killers as you want, it makes no difference to me. However the day Apple pays me for every person I’ve converted to the iPhone, I will continue to sit in my corner and laugh silently at any company who dares to label their next device as the iPhone killer.
