Today I was out and about and I realized the 2 things that matter to me most can be carried in 2 bags. Stripping down to bare essentials the only 2 things I need is my laptop and my camera. Everything else I possess in the house is temporary and are things I can live without for a long time. The laptop is my biggest source to the outside world. Things are at my reach and matters can be take care of with a click of the mouse. Picture taking has grown to something more of a hobby. Once you make an investment more than an entry level SLR things start to get serious. Nevertheless 2 bags is all I need.

Health care

These past few weeks the overhauling of the health care has taken over the news. All over the nation townhall meetings were held so people can voice their opinion. Maybe someone who follows politics more can tell me if the past presidencies had townhall meetings. I don’t recall if the Bush or the Clinton administration there were such things. For the first time in my life I’ve lost total confidence in our leaders especially for this administration. In one swoop Obama tripled our highest deficit and proceeded to tell the public he inherited the highest deficit in our history. Now he’s proposing spending another 1 trillion dollars in the next 10 years to overhaul our health care. So are we going to print more money devaluing our once all mighty dollar? Whatever Obama’s proposing the radio stations are eating him alive with inconsistencies in his speeches. While as a senator and while campaigning to today his views has been anything but consistent. And you know what, today’s approval numbers tell the tale. It would be great if his numbers keep slipping cause you know what, I don’t like being lied to. Obama’s got it right, the government can compete along privatized businesses like UPS or Fedex, look has messed up the post office is. I believe if the government takes over health care, it will be just like the USPS, screwed up.

This weekend was Duffcon. I haven’t played games in such a long time that even the Warcraft 3 game I mastered, I was having problems remembering. Since I fully converted to a Mac, I no longer touch PC gaming. Games like Starcraft and Warcraft are like a snapshot of time and a reminder of the games I played in a time when things were much simpler than they are now. Would I trade all that to be in that time again? I would do it in a heartbeat. No more worries. No more complications. But best of all no more responsibilities. I had fun at Duffcon. But I do have to say, I don’t have the endurance of sitting and playing the same game for over 10 hours like I use to. I also don’t see my friends as much as I use to. So being there and playing games with them is something I do enjoy doing. Side note, I suck at drums on Rock Band.

Lately I’ve been enjoying the tunes of Pandora. I read an article in Inc. magazine how Pandora almost didn’t make it because they were relying on congress to change a law. Long story short, Pandora continues to exist and music lovers and listen to streaming music free. I like the mixture of music I don’t have and or music I don’t normally listen to.
