Here’s proof that we are one of the most difficult shops to deal with in the company. Today we go to another service center for a safety meeting. After the safety meeting we are allowed to discuss topics without management (for obvious reasons). One of the perks (I guess) of the job is that since most of us work outside in the heat, the company has decided to purchase sports drinks to keep us hydrated. Here are the suggestions out of our shop: Gatorade, Gatorade G2, Smart Water, Vitamin Water, Propel. Here are the suggestions out of the other shop: (nothing). Sometimes being difficult cracks me up.

It’s hot outside

It’s been so hot outside that my car’s temperature was in the red before I started the engine.

It’s been so hot outside that by the time I got to my car in the parking lot, I needed to take a water break.

It’s been so hot outside that my water evaporated before I could drink it.

It’s been so hot outside that you could cook an egg on the pavement.

It’s been so hot outside that my iPhone’s LCD show’s black.

It’s been so hot outside that the 4th of July fireworks exploded before it got in the air.

It’s been so hot outside that when it rains it makes going outside feel like a sauna.

I didn’t think I would ever get tired of the cat and mouse game with running a hacked iPhone, but slowly it’s beginning to wear on me. Back during the first generation iPhone days I would spend hours upon hours reading on the different things you could do with the phone. I would download every game released on the jailbroken phone. Back then there wasn’t even an App store so to have games on the phone was a huge step. It became such an obsession to have the latest firmware and latest App I soon bricked the phone. And if I didn’t learn my lesson, I bricked it 4 more times soon learning how to easily unbrick the phone. After iPhone 3G came out and soon the 3GS slowly the urge to have all the games faded. Despite what people tell me I still believe that the more Apps you have on the phone the slower it would run. These days I need the phone more as a communication device than a gaming device. I enjoyed it while it lasted, and all the props go to Apple for creating the next generation gaming device. All those self proclaimed iPod killers and iPhone killers never lasted. Perhaps one day Apple will sell the phone unlocked. Or perhaps I should get an iPod Touch and use that as the gaming device.

Why am I so lazy?

Over the weekend the country celebrated Independence Day. Usually for the 4th I hang out with my friends and have a cookout. I still remember last year’s at a friend’s house. Food was good and everyone had a good time. But when it came time for the fireworks, none of my friends wanted to go. My only reason for going is taking pictures of the fireworks. Usually when my friends don’t want to go, I put it off. But last year I was willing to go alone. The only thing that stopped me is that I didn’t drive and my car was at home. This year was a little bit different. The party was in Galveston in the morning to the evening. I didn’t want to leave after church to drive down to Galveston only to come back in a few hours, so I opted not to go. So instead I went alone to the park and took pictures of the fireworks with the Houston skyline in the background. The pictures didn’t come out like I wanted them to. I will post some eventually. This is probably my last Independence Day so close to downtown.

Happy Bday America!
